You are truly a master of the art of storytelling. I have compassion for your characters and feel their emotions, fear for them when they are in harm’s way, pity them when they are full of despair, cheer when they have overcome whatever you have thrown in their path. I love the settings you put them in, the European cities (some I have visited during my naval service), brings back fond memories. Mr. Follett, I really enjoy reading your novels.

I just want you to know how much I enjoy your work. I was advised by a friend to read ‘Eye of the needle’ a few years ago and have since read all of your books. You are awesome and keep up the good work. I am anxiously awaiting Oct. 2007!

I just have finished ‘The Pillars of the Earth’ for the second time and enjoyed it more than the first time. I am a structural engineer and I enjoyed the explanations of medieval construction the most. I am looking forward to the sequel. I would love to see ‘Pillars’ made into a movie.

I just wanted to say that I now own all of your books and have read several more than once. None have disappointed me, and I’m looking forward to your October release. I started with Nancy Drew and the Dana girls; graduated to female writer’s gothics and mysteries, then espionage, and non-fiction history. I’ve noticed that when a writer turns out many novels, their books tend to sound the same. Yours do not. I think you’re an amazing storyteller, and it’s hard to choose a favorite.

I just finished ‘Whiteout’ (loved it) and thought it would make a really great movie. I found your website on the internet to see if that was already a possibility and was pleased to see it was. You hooked me as a reader many years ago with ‘Eye of the Needle’ and haven’t let me down since. Thank you for all the hours of entertainment!

I have read several of your books over the years; ‘Lie down with Lions’, ‘Hammer of Eden’, ‘Whiteout’, and this morning just finished ‘Jackdaws’. I was totally gripped by both the plot, the pace and the at times, unbearable tension. How pathetic that the committee at the end of the book wouldn’t award Flick the Military Cross.
As a footnote, I am a UK citizen living and working in New York. It gives me a lot of pleasure when I see your books and other British authors lining the shelves in my local mid Manhattan library!
Best wishes, looking forward to ‘World Without End’.
I look forward to your letters. Please write to me via the Contact page, and do see earlier letters…
If you’ve read several of my books, you might enjoy matching the first line with the title, or guessing the working title
